About Kathryn.

I grew up in the USA, moving to England in 1997 to follow my dream to become a midwife.   I qualified as a massage therapist in 1993 and continue to practice although very part time.  I have two children Alicia, aged 24 and Elliot ,12 (born at home).  I run a birth choices support group in my area and volunteer with the local NCT.  I am passionate about birth being a normal life event rather than a medical condition.

I provide comprehensive midwifery care to the women in Hampshire and it’s surrounding counties.  I work with other experienced midwives who, where appropriate, will provide back up i.e. attendance at home birth and cover for holidays.  Together with other professional colleagues we form a fantastic network of support.

“If a woman doesn’t look like a Goddess during labor, then someone isn’t treating her right.” ~Ina May Gaskin

I am registered to practice with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and abide by the Midwife’s Rules and Code of Practice.  I am a member of Independent Midwives UK (IM UK).  I am also a member of the Royal College of Midwives (RCM), National Childbirth Trust (NCT), Association of Radical Midwives (ARM), Le Leche League (LLL) and Association for Improvements in Maternity Services (AIMS).
